With virtual identities being so easy to create, many people are becoming victims of frauds and other criminal activities. We have to conduct business on the net, we have to meet people socially on the net; we have to be able to build a way to create and promote trust.
Identities today are enterprise centric which means every site will want you to have an user identity that is unique to them. However this is the same person who is consuming services from these different sites and hence it is simpler if every person has a single identity that is shared acoss different sites. Now everyone has one single username and password to remember.
