Business Description:We're a team of professionals who switched from mainstream corporate jobs to use our skills and make a difference. As we traveled around the country, we found many resilient entrepreneurs and artisans (many of them women) who make good quality products. But their biggest challenge was to access markets on fair terms and financing on reasonable terms.
We set up Earthy Goods a year ago to demonstrate that responsible business models do work at the deep end of the economy. It only takes a whole lot of effort, patience and common sense to do it. We work as consultants, mentors, marketers, financers - leave no missing link for any producer who has the will and intent to participate in the mainstream economy.
On the markets end, we have established a network of distributors and retailers for all our partners. This enables them to access urban consumers and markets on fair terms. The team has created the country's first 'shared' brand which represents several partners. We're confident that we have the making of an innovative model that can prove the a business approach can do good too.
